Your child’s greatest need is their spiritual formation.   Jesus teaches us both the priority and the goal of spiritual formation in Matthew 22:37-40: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the greatest and most important command.  The second is like it; Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
So, what is spiritual formation according to Jesus? It’s helping your child believe in Jesus and to love Him and serve Him with all of their life. What is the priority of spiritual formation, Jesus says that it is the highest and most important pursuit of our lives as people and parents. That’s why we encourage parents to be intentionally developing their kids spiritually through how they spend their time, how they take advantage of moments, and how they mark milestones through their child’s life.
