Leverage Every Moment

Every family has a rhythm yes, even the families who can't seem to escape the cycle of daily chaos. If you look closely, you'll find consistent things that happen every day or week in your family. Whether it's meal times, car rides, or bath time routines, here are some cues you can leverage for meaningful connection with your kids:

Morning time. (any kid, any age)
Start your kid's day with an encouraging word even if they are grumpy or don't respond well.

Drive time. (any kid, any age)
While on the go, use this time to connect with your kid/teen and get to know what's going on in their life and what's important to them.

Meal time. (any kid, any age)
Whether you have a baby or an older kid, you can use this time for more heartfelt conversations to reflect on what's most important, including faith and character.

Bath time. (for preschoolers)
Talk about Bible stories and the character of God.

Cuddle time. (for preschoolers)
This is the perfect time to prompt you to pray for your baby, toddler, or preschooler.

Bedtime. (any kid, any age)
Use the quieter moments to pray for your kids, for their futures, their relationships, and everything in between.

Their time. (for high schoolers)
Be accessible when your high schooler wants to connect even if it's late at night.

Your family's rhythm may look different from the next family's, but a cadence exists nonetheless. Connection doesn't have to be difficult it's about leveraging the time you do have to meet your kids where they are in a meaningful way.
