Weekend

8th -9th Grade

Throughout the school year, we host three experiences we call "The Weekend" for specific student age groups (6-7th, 8-9th, & 10-12th).  As part of the weekend, students will have lots of fun, and engage in great worship and Biblical teaching that focuses on issues and opportunities specific to their lives.

For the 8-9th grade Weekend: A key step in the life of every believer is learning how to read the bible on their own. This step is critical to grow in spiritual maturity. However, this step is also a habit and skill that has to be learned.

That is why the focus of The Weekend (8-9th) is going to be all about helping 8-9th graders understand and learn how to properly read scripture on their own.

  • 9:30-10:00 AM - Doors Open/Check-in
  • 10:00- 10:30 - Session 1
  • 10:30-11:00 - Session 1: Small Group 
  • 11:00-12:30 - Fun in Kid Theater
  • 12:30- 1:00 - Lunch in the Cafe
  • 1:00-1:30 - Session 2
  • 1:30-2:00 - Practice Personal Devo Time
  • 2:00-2:30 - Session 2: Small Group
  • 2:30-3:45 Obstacle course dodgeball in Kid Town.
  • 4:00-4:30 - Session 3
  • 4:30-5:00 - Session 3: Small Group
  • 5:00-5:30 - Fun on Rec Space
  • 5:45-6:15 Dinner
  • 6:30-6:45 Worship
  • 6:45-7:15 - Session 4
  • 7:15-7:25 TOC
  • 7:30-8:00 Ice cream bar in the student Game Room
  • 8:00 Students are dismissed to go home

WEEKEND FOCUS

HOW TO READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF  

A key step in the life of every believer is learning how to read the bible on their own. This step is critical to grow in spiritual maturity. However, this step is also a habit and skill that has to be learned. 

That is why the focus of The Weekend (8-9th) is going to be all about helping 8-9th graders open up, understand, and apply the Bible on their own. This is a key next step in the life of every believer.
